Description
This book examines the prevalence and determinants of multi-morbidity among the rural elderly in Odisha and explores how socio-economic and demographic factors influence the occurrence of multiple chronic conditions. It further assesses the opportunity costs associated with multimorbidity, including loss of working days, reduced productivity, and the broader economic burden on elderly individuals and their households. Through an in-depth empirical analysis, the study highlights the intersection of ageing, health, and socio-economic vulnerability in rural areas and offers evidence-based insights for improving geriatric healthcare policies and support systems.
