This manual provides comprehensive information on Medicinal and Aromatic Crops catering to the needs of scholars, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and organizations working or interested in medicinal plants sector. There are several reference materials about medicinal plants published by government, individual researchers, non-government organizations etc. For this, published and unpublished literatures available in the public domain viz, documents of client, scientific papers, articles, reports, books etc, were reviewed. Most of this reference material focused can general description of plants with or without pictures. But there are very limited publications that describes the traded part with pictures. This book is expected to be helpful to forest and custom officials in the identification of medicinal plants by viewing the traded part.

Dr. A.S. Bisht earned his doctoral degree from HNB Garhwal University Srinagar Garhwal Uttarakhand. Presently working as Assistant Professor in VCSG Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry, Bharsar Pauri Garhwal Uttarakhand India. Dr. Bisht possesses extensive expertise in the Plant Ecology, Taxonomy, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Natural Resource Management and Biodiversity Conservation. He has made significant contributions to the realm of RET Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Species, evident in his extensive body of work, which includes the publication of more than 50 original research and review papers, 10 book chapters and 3 books. He had completed 04 research projects as Investigator and Research Team member in Sate Govt. and ICAR funded projects. As an academic mentor, Dr. Bisht currently guided thirty-six master’s students toward the completion of their degrees. His scholarly impact is underscored by the widespread recognition of his work, with more than 450 citations and h-index of 12 according to Google Scholar. Dr Bisht actively engaged in germplasm collection, identification, characterization, conservation and sustainable utilization of medicinal and aromatic plants through propagation, elite selection and yield improvement.
