It meticulously examines the challenges of health seeking behaviour practice in the different communities all over Odisha. The book also explores deeply into the unique health problems faced by marginalized populations in Odisha. It offers an insightful viewpoint on tribal health and livelihood issues, focusing especially on socio-economic perspectives.

About the Editors

Dr. Sachita Nanda Sa is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Economics in the P.G. Department of Social Science, Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, Odisha. Dr. Sa completed his M.Phil. and Ph.D. from the Central University of Hyderabad, Telangana. He was also the Visiting Professor in the Karaganda State Technical University, Kazakhstan in December 2018. He has authored and co-authored several books and published outstanding articles in both nationally and internationally reputed Scopus-indexed journals. He has completed one Ph.D. under his guidance. Dr. Sa has experience of attending and delivering talks at a number of conferences and seminars at both national and international levels. His area of specialization are Health Economics, Development Economics, Econometrics and Mathematical Economics. Currently, Dr. Sa has completed one major Research project on Health sponsored by OURIIP, Odisha State Higher Education Council, Govt. of Odisha.

Dr. Akash Mallick is currently an Assistant Professor, serving in the Department of Anthropology, Fakir Mohan University of Odisha, India. He did his M.Sc. in Anthropology from the University of Calcutta, West Bengal, in 2015. He was awarded the Indian Statistical Institute-Junior Research Fellowship (ISI-JRF) in the same year and pursued his Ph.D. under Prof. Subrata Kumar Roy (Retd.), Biological Anthropology Unit. He was awarded the Ph.D. degree in 2022 from the University of Calcutta. Dr. Mallick has extensively worked among the Oraons in Northern Bengal on health and development issues. He has published several articles in Scopus-indexed journals like Anthropologischer Anzeiger (Germany), Anthropological Review (Poland), Annals of Human Biology (United Kingdom), and Discover Public Health (India), and so on. He co-authored several book chapters in Elsevier, Springer, etc. He has been interested in teaching and conducting research in bio-cultural anthropology, emphasizing on adolescent and maternal health in rural sectors, especially among indigenous groups.

Dr. Biswajit Parida is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the P.G. Department of Anthropology, Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, Odisha. He obtained M.A. (Gold Medallist) in Anthropology from Sambalpur University, M.Phil. from Central Pondicherry University, and Ph.D. from Sambalpur University, Odisha. He has rich experience in Tribal Studies, development, Anthropology of Food, Museology, Archaeology, Human Trafficking, Development and Displacement, and tribal Health based on different tribal groups in India. Dr. Parida has published more than twenty research-based articles in different National and international journals and a book chapter to his credit.
